Electric Imp loves hacking. Every three or four months we drop whatever we’re currently working on to spend a day building the things we’re really passionate about. Our next hackathon will be on December 7 in San Francisco, and we would like you to come hack with us!
We have teamed up with our friends at New Relic, who offer a performance management solution to help developers diagnose and fix software performance issues in real time. New Relic also happens to be one of our first customers, having used the Electric Imp platform to build a pretty cool badge for their last conference. New Relic is generously supplying all the food, drinks, and venue for the hackathon.
The hackathon is not a startup contest, and there are not thousands of dollars at stake. The goal is to bring together people interested in building connected hardware, have them create new connected Things, and leave knowing a bit more than when they arrived.
There will be workshops, mentors, and free DevKits for those who are new to hacking, hardware, or the Electric Imp platform. All you need to bring something to hack! If you don’t know what to build (or are new to electronics and unsure about what you can build) we suggest purchasing this Hackathon Kit we put together on SparkFun. The kit has everything you need to sense the world around you, make things light up, move, and create sounds! If you plan to purchase the kit or other hardware, you should do so as soon as possible to ensure it arrives on time since we will not be selling any hardware at the event.
We hope you can attend, and are excited to see what kind of great hacks you can come up with! If you have any questions about the hackathon, you can reach out to us on Twitter, Facebook, or info@electricimp.com. Space is limited, so make sure you register soon!
